Join the Corps

Events, parades, or intimate social events, The Tippecanoe Ancient Fife and Drum Corps (TAFDC) vividly brings to life the history of the colonial French military presence in North America.  From their brightly colored uniforms to the spirited sounds of the fifes and drums, this group of talented performers lends an air of historic pageantry to every event.  Authenticity in uniforming, drill routines, and music is strictly adhered to in this unit.  Carefully conducted research enables the Corps to portray “Les Compagnies Franches de la Marine du Canada” or the Company of French Marines in Canada.  These French soldiers were stationed in North America from the 1680’s to the mid- 1700’s.  They protected a line of forts from the St Lawrence to New Orleans, fostered friendly relationships with the native Indians, and maintained order in the French colonies from Quebec to New Orleans which aided the peaceful flow of fur trade.  If so, Click here to contact us about having us play at your event.
